SEYCHELLES HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY STUDENTS ON ATTACHMENT IN DUBAI VISITED BY MINISTER ST.ANGE

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture made time whilst on a working to the UAE to stop at Dubai accompanied by Mr. Barry Faure Chairman of the Seychelles Tourism Board & Secretary of State in the President's Office, together with Mrs Elsia Grandcourt, the CEO of Tourism Board

called on the 03 advanced diploma Seychelles Tourism Academy students who are now doing their attachment after having completed their 01year at Shannon University in Ireland.

The 03 students: Samia Confiance, (sponsored by Sainte Anne Beachcomber Resort) Anette Pierre ( sponsored by Constance Lemuria Resort) and Saul Salomon ( sponsored by Four Seasons Seychelles) are all doing their attachment in the Food & Beverage field at the new Sofitel Luxury Hotel Dubai Jumeirah Beach. The three Seychellois Students said that they were pleasantly surprised by the surprise.

The management of the Sofitel Luxury Hotel Dubai were pleased to welcome the Seychelles Minister and his delegation and spent time alongside the students to discuss the Seychellois Students progress and they assured the Minister that their attachment program was going well. The Seychelles students will be on attachment in Dubai for 18 months where they will be covering all aspects of the food & beverage. They will be rotating within the 07 main outlets of the hotel including banqueting, a facility this 438 rooms hotel boasts about.

The Hotel's Director of Food & Beverage, Mr. Sinan Koseoglu, shared with the delegation the detailed management training program prepared for the three Seychellois students, and he confirmed to the Minister that the hotel was so far happy with the students performance. Mr Sinan Koseoglu also highlighted that it was the first time that they are receiving students from Shannon University of Ireland. The Sofitel Luxury Hotel Dubai Jumeirah Beach is currently also working with hotel schools from Lyon and Lausanne.

The Management of the Sofitel Luxury Hotel Dubai Jumeirah Beach confirmed that they are prepared to look at areas of cooperation with the Seychelles Tourism Academy through an MoU to receive other students on attachment programs.

The Hotel Management Team which also included the Hotel Manager Dominic Arel discussed the potential of the Sofitel Group of Hotels to look at hotel investment possibilities in the Seychelles. This would be further be explored by Sofitel by the Seychelles Investment Board.

The three Seychellois students expressed their satisfaction on the way their attachment was going, and they explained that they were happy with their living and working condition. They said that the first 02 months they went through an adaptation phase which they found quite challenging, but are now pleased to report that they are nicely settled in their role. Their message to their family back in Seychelles is for them to know that they are well and they took the opportunity to assure the Seychelles Tourism Academy, the Seychelles Tourism Board and the Seychelles Government of their commitment to do well and to do their country proud.
